THE PEOPLE’S GALLERY
He’s a federal court judge, an art aficionado and a proud Oklahoman and he is back on OETA to show viewers all the beautiful works Oklahoma artists have offered the world.
In January, Judge Robert Henry led us on a tour of the great works of art that hang in the Oklahoma State Capitol, a tour he only gives to visiting dignitaries. Now, he takes us on another tour of the new Betty Price Gallery, the new home for the Oklahoma State Art Collection inside the capitol building, curated by the Oklahoma Arts Council.
See works by great Oklahoma artists who influenced their genres like Edward Ruscha, tied to Oklahoma City, who’s work, along side the likes of Andy Warhol, gave birth to pop art, Oscar Jacobson of Norman, who besides his own artistic brilliance saw the talent in five Plains Indians and helped them become the famous Kiowa Five, and Alexanre Hogue from Tulsa who’s self proclaimed “psycho-reality” gave an early and lonely voice to environmental issues in the 1930’s.

The People’s Gallery with Judge Robert Henry airs on OETA this November.
